the henrik bed: information, photographs and a 10% discount

Last September I designed The Henrik Bed for my son’s fifth Birthday.   After searching quite some time and not being able to find exactly what I was looking for I decided to design it myself.  I wanted something modern and simple, yet have a retro feel.  As an Interior Designer I have been so fortunate to work with  a master craftsman who has been building furniture for over thirty years.  We have worked on many other projects (beds and furniture) and he has always exceeded my expectations.  He is a perfectionist and it shows in his work.  I am a perfectionist as well and have been so happy with it in every way.  I really am so excited to be able to share this bed with you and am grateful for your interest and support.

These lovely photographs were taken by the talented Ashley Thalman.

The bed is a twin bed fitting a standard twin mattress and is made from locally sourced Maple wood. The headboard measures 40″ high, the footboard measures 30″ high, and the bed is 42″ wide.  The prices are as follows:  solid wood natural finish–$800, painted white–$850, the dip (pictured)–$875.

As most of you may already know we lost our six month in utero baby boy in January.  Since that loss I have felt a strong desire to make something positive come from this heartbreaking experience.  I designed the bed out of love for my son Henrik and a need for a product I couldn’t find in the market.  This bed, in my opinion, is the start of something great and the positive I have been yearning for since my loss.  Thanks again for your interest and support.  If you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.

I love this bed so much, it’s just what I have in mind when my son is ready for his big boy bed. We won’t be there for another year or so, so hopefully you will still be selling them!

  3. I am in love with this bed!! Excellent work. I am going to save up my money to buy one :) p.s. I would love to know where you got your son’s comforter cover! (the fox one) I love it!

Thank you! Unfortunately, I bought the comforter cover in Germany at a store called Betten Rid. The designer is Christian Fischbacher. Best of luck!

  4. I love that you’ve done this. And made it available to us as well! So so cool. We’re a year or so away from a twin size bed as well… but i can already picture two henrik beds lined up in my boys room. I’ll be back!
