I really enjoy sewing with and finding new ways to use felt. Chronicle Books recently published So Pretty! Felt, written by Amy Palanjian. So Pretty! Felt is a compilation of 24 different creative felt projects. The projects are fun and easy to do if you know some basic sewing skills and know your way around a hot glue gun. There are also new techniques and approaches to working with felt that I have never tried. There’s even instructions on how to make a felt mushroom. I can’t wait to try it! Chronicle Books is generously offering one lucky reader a chance to win a book. All you have to do is leave a comment below. I’ll announce the winner next week.
I didn’t have a lot of time the other day, so I decided to try the quick felt garland project from the book. I am a big fan of garlands, especially in a child’s room. The garland was a perfect way to add some pops of color in Henrik’s room.
This felt garland was so easy to make and took no time at all. The great thing about making this garland is that you can use scraps of felt in any shape and color. I chose to use squares, triangles, and circles. I also added a couple of silhouettes of a giraffe, an elephant and a lion to make it a little more playful and childlike.
I was so happy with how it turned out, it was just what I wanted. I look forward to starting on some more projects from the So Pretty! Felt book, particularly some of the necklace ideas.
